Duckreach Working Bee!

Rosie Hohnen

Huge thank you to everyone who joined us on the weekend for our first working bee at Duck Reach, in Cataract Gorge, Launceston! And to photography extraordinaire Nick Hanson for these great pics.

Our focus for the day was on Elisha's Tears, a new noxious weed which we have a chance of eradicating (see photo of the red-flowered plant). We also cleaned up a bit of blackberry, hawthorn and gorse, relieved a native raspberry from a tangle of blackberries, did some track work, a general tidy up, and some rubbish removal just to seize the day.

We're planning another working bee in February for the gorge (dates TBD), so keep an eye on this page for updates.
